CULTURE VS TALENT

PHOTO OF THE WEEKWhat's more important, Culture or Talent? I think, if you're only slightly more talented than your opponent, but they're team culture is a lot better than yours... You'll lose every single time.

But the question is, what's more important? At the college level, if you have great culture but don't win games, the coach is GONE! But again, what's more important? In SWFL high school basketball, besides 4-5 teams, everyone is pretty evenly matched. I think we're about to answer the question in real-time during this playoff run.

I'm going to go with TALENT. I know that's surprising, but in playoff time, everybody has great culture. Everybody is hyped to play. You better have some dawgs on that court. But we shall see.

Cape and North played a good one tonight in the opening round of the LCAC tournament. North led at the half but a couple of big buckets down the stretch helped the Seahawks pull it out in the 4th. Cape 54 - North 45

FOR PARENTS OF ATHLETESI frequently receive inquiries about how parents can navigate the challenges and pressures associated with raising an aspiring athlete. As a former Division 1 basketball player, I have firsthand experience with the hurdles involved in pursuing the success necessary for earning an athletic scholarship. Let's be honest; we aim to recoup some of the time and money we've dedicated to our children's dreams. I'll be using Facebook as a platform to tackle various issues I've observed among young athletes, as well as to discuss trends in recruiting, AAU programs, and interactions with college coaches. This is relevant for all sports and for parents of athletes at every level.
